Hello! I have to say that having a laptop that I can actually bring to work (small! battery can last for a few hours before needing a charge!) allows for more frequent blog posts! Hooray for a new record … 3 in a row! Let’s keep this going!
Ok, so first things first. I wanted to start taking at least one picture per day, right? And I thought I’d give myself today and tomorrow to kind of kick start 2011-365. So what do I do? I forget my camera. Yes!!! Great start, Jess. BUT! ALL IS NOT LOST! For the first time ever, I have a computer with a webcam. Wait, let me rephrase that. A WORKING webcam. I feel like a teenage girl. Who just discovered webcams. And it’s 2011. But whatever. This is my blog-world! I can be excited for a webcam if I want to be!!!!
So ANYWAY. I took a picture this morning to share with you. FROM MY WEBCAM in my office at work. I’m totally in my natural state. Fuzzy hair. Eyes barely open. Coffee stapled to my face. Here goes the sharing …
2010-pre-365
Kinda scary huh? Well, get used to it. CUZ I HAVE A WEBCAM. Ok, that’s getting creepy so I’ll stop.
Moving on!
What’s next on the list …
Oh this wasn’t on the to-do list … but I really wanted to share! A great friend of mine sent me an advance of an amazing book coming out in April 2011. It’s called The Wilder Life by Wendy McClure.
For anyone who read the Little House books and felt … a connection? An obsession? Like you were transported in time and actually SAW the Big Woods or Prairie so clearly that, if you stumbled upon it while walking, you would totally know where you were and where Laura’s house was. I got it in the mail last night and was 120 pages in by the time I forced myself to put it down at 1am. It’s fabulous. But, Little House lovers, be warned. The author digs deep into the real life of the Ingalls and Wilders to see just how much of the stories are fact and how much was fiction. She dispels some stories and ideas that I was a little sad to learn were fiction. I guess I always knew that there had to be SOME poetic license (c’mon could everything REALLY be that clean when you bathed once a week and made your own soap???) but it’s weird to read what was the real story. Anyway. If you are a fan of the books you must read this book. It’s great … and Ms. McClure is great … so read it!
Book review – CHECK! And that wasn’t even ON my plan! :o) How awesome am I??
And I will leave you with one of my favorite Bible verses … one that I am living everyday, if nothing else! Have a great day everyone!
In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.
1 Thessalonians 5:18
PS – I have one amigurumi blue bird left from Christmas that I think I am going to raffle off on here. I just have to take a non-webcam picture of it. But it’s going to require a comment from you. So, readers (hmmm … is that truly plural as of yet?? We’ll see!) get ready to come out of hiding! I will probably do this this weekend … as soon as I can get a photo taken. Once I am OFF FOR FIVE DAYS IN A ROW. Hmmm … I seem to be doing a lot of all caps yelling on here. BUT IT’S MY BLOG. I CAN DO THAT IF I WANT TO. Ok, stop, dear. You are trying to create a readership, not alienate the one person who does read this. :o) Have a great day!
xoxo
